About Samastipur Bihar.

Samastipur is one of the major cities of the state of Bihar. Which is quite famous for its agriculture, its folk songs, small industries, and mills. Agriculture is done here on a large scale. Rice, Wheat, Jowar, Maizeand, Green vegetables are the crops grown here. Most of the people grow these crops for their own use and those whose income is mainly dependent on agriculture, cultivate potatoes, sugarcane as well as litchi, and mango on a large scale. To avoid spoilage of these crops, more than 20 cold storages have also been made here. Where these cold storages are used to keep the crops fresh for a long time.

The number of small industries is also very high here, in these industries, along with Sugarcane processing mills, Rice mills, Jute mills, Ergo plants, Oil manufacturing mills, Eta Bhatti, and Fiberglass manufacturing. more than fifty-one small and medium enterprises are also located. It was made an independent city in 1972 when it was separated from the Darbhanga district. Folk dances such as folk songs, traditional Kathghorwa dance, Natua dance Dom Domin and Jhijhiya are performed and taught even today. These include the famous Sama Chakeva festival and the Dom Kach dance.

Rahar dal, usna rice, pickle, and litti chokha are very famous in the food. Major tourist attractions include Bakhtiyarpur Tajpur Ganga Bridge, Thaneshwar Asthan Temple, and Khudni Bibi Ka Maqbara. People from nearby cities and Uttar Pradesh also come with their families to see them. According to the 2011 census, more than “sixty-two thousand” people used to reside here, which would have increased at present. Maithili, Bhojpuri, Hindi, and Urdu are widely used by the people here.
